Former Survivor producer Bruce Beresford-Redman has been released from detention, but cannot leave Mexico as the investigation into his wife's death continues, authorities told The Associated Press.
Beresford-Redman is still under investigation in the death of his wife, Monica, who was found dead in Cancun Thursday morning, Quintana Roo state investigator Veronica Acacio said.

Former Survivor producer a suspect in wife's death

The producer was detained as a suspect Thursday and was released early Friday morning, Acacio said.Police found Monica's body in a sewer at the Moon Palace resort, where the couple and their children were staying. Beresford-Redman had reported his wife missing on Tuesday.A cause of death has not been determined, but the body had scratches on the neck, signs of asphyxiation and a blow to the right temple, according to Quintana Roo Attorney General Francisco Alor.A CBS official told TVGuide.com that Beresford-Redman had not worked on Survivor since 2004. Beresford-Redman also produced Pimp My Ride, The Restaurant and The Contender.
