A former Survivor producer has been detained in Cancun as a suspect in his wife's death, authorities told The Associated Press.
Monica Beresford-Redman was found dead Thursday morning in a sewer at the Moon Palace hotel in the Mexican resort city, where she, husband Bruce Beresford-Redman and their children were vacationing, an official at the office of the Quintana Roo state attorney general told the AP. A cause of death has not been determined.

On Tuesday, Bruce Beresford-Redman reported his wife missing, telling police that she left the resort Monday and never returned. A witness at the resort saw the couple arguing Sunday, the official said."I'm very hopeful someone will find my wife very soon," Beresford-Redman told Los Angeles' KCAL-TV Wednesday. "She still hasn't been located and we're looking."A CBS official told TVGuide.com that Beresford-Redman had not worked on Survivor since 2004.A three-time Emmy nominee, Beresford-Redman also produced Pimp My Ride, The Restaurant and The Contender. Monica Beresford-Redman was the owner of a Brazilian nightclub and a bar-restaurant in Palms, Calif., according to The Los Angeles Times.
