Rev up those engines, because it's time to ride again.

FX today announced that it has picked up the Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans M.C. to series. The show is set after the events of the Sons of Anarchy finale and follows a new recruit named EZ Reyes (Revolution's JD Pardo) as he pledges to the Mayans motorcycle club, the largely Hispanic gang who alternated between friend and foe of Sons of Anarchy's SAMCRO.

FX has ordered a 10-episode first season, which will premiere in 2018. Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter and straight-edge punk filmmaker Elgin James are behind the series.

Mayans MC's order isn't exactly a surprise; Sons of Anarchy was FX's biggest hit ever, and at this past summer's Television Critics Association press tour, FX boss John Landgraf said he was "confident" about the series' future.

In addition to Pardo, Mayans M.C. will also star Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas and Richard Cabral.

There have been no mentions of cameos by former Sons of Anarchy characters, but in order for them to appear in the spin-off they'd have to be alive after SOA's finale, and that doesn't leave a whole lot of possibilities given the slaughter that occurred in the show's final season. In other words, Charlie Hunnam's Jax Teller won't be showing up. But here's holding out hope that Jax's son Abel Teller, that little psychopath, makes an appearance as an angry tween.
