Rebecca Black doesn't have to worry about any cyberbullying from Simon Cowell.

The X Factor creator counts himself as a fan of the 13-year-old YouTube sensation who's been drawing criticism for the viral hit "Friday," according to EW.

Cyberbully to Rebecca Black: "I hope you cut yourself"

"Love it!" Cowell says. "I've never seen anything cause so much controversy. I think it's genius. The fact that everyone's getting upset about it is hysterical. Any song to do with the weekend annoys you. It reminds me of 'Saturday Night;' do you remember that [1994] song by Whigfield? It's what we call a 'hair-dryer song,' a song girls sing into their hair dryers as they're getting ready to go out. But the fact that it's making people so angry is brilliant."

As a former judge on American Idol, Cowell is familiar with his occasionally blunt, colorfully phrased comments making people angry.

LA Reid joins X Factor as a judge

Fox recently announced that Island Def Jam chairman Antonio "L.A." Reid will join Cowell at the judges table on The X Factor, which will debut in September.
