Though Scream Queensoriginally promised an And Then There Were None-style series, the majority of the main cast survived the first season of the Ryan Murphy horror-comedy - and now we know why.

During a panel at PaleyFest on Saturday, TVLine reports, it was revealed that Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd,Niecy Nash and Glenn Powell will return for Season 2.

As for the circumstances of the Chanels' (Roberts, Breslin and Lourd) improbable return (seeing as they were sentenced to an insane asylum in the finale), the trio will somehow get exonerated, after which they will all attend the same med school. Dean Munsch (Curtis) will then buy the hospital where the Chanels have enrolled.

When Scream Queens picks back up, Officer Denise Hemphill (Nash) will have been promoted to a high-ranking FBI agent who becomes involved in the new murder investigation, in which former Red Devil Hester (Michele) will also play a role.

During the panel, Michele also stoked the rumor flames by possibly joking — but possibly confirming — that One Direction's Harry Styles will, in fact, appear in the second season.
