British Actress Sarah Marshall Dies at 80

British actress Sarah Marshall, who appeared on The Twilight Zone and Star Trek, died Saturday of cancer in Los Angeles, Variety reports. She was 80.

British actress Sarah Marshall, who appeared on The Twilight Zone and Star Trek, died Saturday of cancer in Los Angeles, Variety reports. She was 80.

Born in London, Marshall found acting success on stage and screen in both Britain and the United States throughout her life. In addition to her television roles, Marshall also had a notable Broadway career, and was nominated for a Tony Award in 1960 for her role in Goodbye, Charlie. She also received the New York Drama Critics Award for The Ponder Heart.

Marshall began her TV career in the mid-1950s. Her credits include Alfred Hitchcock PresentsGet SmartThree's Company and Cheers, and she was also a regular on CBS' Miss Winslow & Son in the late 1970s. She also appeared in episodes of The Twilight Zone and Star Trek, as an ex of Captain Kirk (William Shatner).

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, actor Carl Held, as well as a son, four grandchildren and a half-sister, Variety reports.
