Sandra Bullock Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock had a surprise for the guys.

In her first public appearance since her split from Jesse James and adoption of her son, Louis, the Oscar winner popped up at Saturday's Spike TV Guys Choice Awards to accept the "Troops Choice" Award for Entertainer of the Year.

Dressed in a tight black dress and surrounded by presenter Robert Downey Jr. and members of the military, Bullock, 45, walked out to a standing ovation.

"Let's be honest here, just for a moment. We're all going to be honest, right?" said Bullock, whose appearance was kept secret from staff and participants. "Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. [improvised explosive device] explosion that became my personal life?!"The award was voted on by members of the military stationed around the world."No, it's OK. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops, and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking about herself," she said. "I would sing, but you've seen enough pain in your lifetime. I would dance — I'm a pretty good dancer, but as I mentioned, the dress is pretty tight."
