Sandra Bullock to Make First Appearance Since Split at 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Sandra Bullock will make her first public appearance since splitting from husband Jesse James at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

Bullock will be on hand to accept the MTV Generation Award. "Sandra is one of those rare individuals who is adored by our audience as both an actress and a role model," Stephen Friedman, general manager of MTV, said in a statement on Wednesday. "Recognizing her remarkable talent, amazing range of films and her visceral connection to our audience around the globe, we are honored to present her with our MTV Generation Award."

The 45-year-old actress is the first woman to be honored, following such previous recipients as Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.

The MTV Generation Award is just Bullock's latest hardware acquisition following her wins at the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards, the Razzies and the Academy Awards, where she won best actress for her performance in The Blind Side.

Less than two weeks after Oscar night, In Touch reported that James had cheated on Bullock with model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee. Bullock filed for divorce in April, when she also adopted a 3 1/2-month-old baby boy named Louis.

Jesse James: My father abused me

In his first television interview since the divorce, James told Nightline that he still loved Bullock. He also revealed that he was abused as a child.

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards air on Sunday, June 6 at 9/8c.
