See who Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange are playing
Ryan Murphy is pulling out all the stops for his next anthology series, Feud.
Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange will star in the first season of the upcoming FX drama, which will focus on the infamous bad blood between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford on the set of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
Crawford (Lange) and Davis (Sarandon) already had a heated rivalry before signing on to co-star in Baby Jane, with the hopes the 1962 film would revive their careers. And the movie did just that -- it scored five Oscar nominations, including one for Davis. However, it was Crawford who got the last laugh at the Academy Awards when she accepted the Oscar on behalf of Anne Bancroft, who beat Davis for the win.
Feud will also star Alfred Molina as Baby Jane's director Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as studio exec Jack Warner, Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper and Dominic Burgess as Crawford and Davis' co-star Victor Buono. Brad Pitt has signed on to executive-produce the eight-episode first season alongside Murphy, Lange and Sarandon.
This is Murphy's fourth anthology series in the works. He's currently working on new seasons of American Horror Story, American Crime StoryandScream Queens. And while Sarah Paulson managed to film American Horror Story and American Crime Story simultaneously, we doubt Lange will follow suit. So don't expect the grand dame of AHS to feature prominently -- if at all -- in Season 6.
