Rob Lowe will write about being an actor and father in an upcoming memoir titled "Stories I Only Tell My Friends."
The book, announced by publisher Henry Holt and Company, is set for a May 2011 release. Holt president Stephen Rubin described the project as "a mid-career meditation on his four decades as an actor."
According to a release, Lowe, 46, will reflect on his transition from teen idol to movie and TV star, and open up about his family, fatherhood, and sobriety. Holt acquired the actor's memoir as a submission in fall 2009 but waited to announce the news until a few chapters were completed.
Elsewhere, Lowe is also teaming with production company 44 Blue on a reality show project called Potomac Fever, Washington Post reports. Following the trend of Washington D.C.-set reality programming like Top Chef and Real Housewives of D.C., Potomac will feature young residents trying to make it in the city.
