Is the popularity of online dating about to plummet?

MTV has ordered 10 episodes of the scripted series Eye Candy, starring Nickelodeon alum Victoria Justice, TVGuide.com has learned.

Based on the R.L. Stine novel of the same name, the series centers on Lindy (Justice), a tech genius who is convinced to start online dating by her roommate. However, Lindy begins to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors may be a deadly cyber stalker right at the time her friends at the elusive cyber police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan. Determined to find out if it's the same guy, Lindy teams with a band of hackers to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York City.

Winter TV 2014: Must-see new shows

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke directed the pilot and will executive-produce with Jason Blum (The Reader), Yvonne Bernard and Beth Elise Hawk. Emmy Grinwis wrote the project and will serve as a co-executive producer.

Best known for her star turn on Victorious, Justice's other credits include Zoey 101, Everwood and Fun Size.
