The Heat Poster Under Fire for Slimming Down Melissa McCarthy

A U.K. poster for The Heat has become the center of controversy for digitally slimming down star Melissa McCarthy.

A U.K. poster for The Heathas become the center of controversy for digitally slimming down star Melissa McCarthy.
In the image, the actress' face, chin and neck have been altered to make McCarthy look significantly thinner. British entertainment blog The Shiznit created a "rollover" image to show the startling before-and-after Photoshop work.

McCarthy has never been bashful about her body size and is known for her fuller figure, but this isn't the first time she has been slimmed down for a poster. A one-sheet for Bridesmaids also depicted McCarthy with a slimmer neck and more defined cheekbones. Earlier this year, critic Rex Reed attacked the actress' weight in a review of her film Identity Thief, calling McCarthy "tractor-sized" and a "hippo."McCarthy has not commented on The Heat poster.Do you think The Heat poster should have left McCarthy alone?
