Mega Buzz: Sexy Americans, New Grey's Drama and HIMYM's Finale

Every week, senior reporter Natalie Abrams satisfies your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to megascoop@tvguide.com or tweet them to @NatalieAbrams. What's the state of Phillip and Elizabeth's marriage when The Americans returns? — JuneWell, I may forgo watching the premiere with my parents since it features a scene that shows some pretty intense sexual wrestling between Phillip and Elizabeth. In other words, they're doing OK. "They're ready to be married," executive producer Joel Fields tells me. "What they're going to discover is having been fake-married for a long time, real marriage is not an easy thing. When you have two kids, there's family to contend with. Add to that their work is life-and-death and the future of mankind hangs in the balance, there's a little bit of pressure for them." What's the state of Phillip and Elizabeth's marriage when The Americansreturns? — June
Well, I may forgo watching the premiere with my parents since it features a scene that shows some pretty intense sexual wrestling between Phillip and Elizabeth. In other words, they're doing OK. "They're ready to be married," executive producer Joel Fields tells me. "What they're going to discover is having been fake-married for a long time, real marriage is not an easy thing. When you have two kids, there's family to contend with. Add to that their work is life-and-death and the future of mankind hangs in the balance, there's a little bit of pressure for them."

It's been far too long since we got Grey's Anatomyscoop! — Tai
Unfortunately, I come bearing bad news. All those years of promiscuity among the docs will finally bring some consequences. Someone feels so uncomfortable with all the bed-hopping at Grey Sloan Memorial that he or she takes the information straight to HR.

Any How I Met Your Mother scoop? — Gabi
How about who gets the last line? Co-creator Craig Thomas says that although many aspects of the finale had been decided years ago, they recently decided to give the last line to "someone you don't expect -- maybe someone you haven't even met yet." Lest we forget, the finale will show the gang past 2030.

What's up with no Daryl on Sunday's The Walking Dead? — Mark
Don't worry, you'll see him soon, but it might not be the same Daryl we've all come to know and love. "We're really going to be seeing him struggling with whether he can maintain who he's become or is he going to revert back to who he was before," executive producer Robert Kirkman tells me. "Sadly, it looks like Beth is going to be caught in the crossfire." Eh, they've killed pretty much the whole Greene family already. What's one more?

Can you tell me more about the Beckett episode coming up on Castle? — Julie
Beckett's going undercover -- with potentially disastrous complications. "Beckett thinks she's pretending to be one person, but discovers that [the criminals] think that she's somebody else completely," creator Andrew W. Marlowe says. "She has to navigate those waters and figure out who she's supposed to be, and any misstep could get her killed." Adding an extra layer of danger? As the undercover op unravels, Beckett will once again come into contact with some familiar faces from the Johanna Beckett murder investigation. Any guesses?

Please share some Scandalnews. — Aidy
Sally Langston is far from being out of the picture after killing off her husband. In fact, she'll redouble her efforts to maintain a sense of power in the White House by working closely with Leo to plan her next career steps. In related news, the midseason premiere is called "Ride Sally Ride."

Got any more House of Cardsscoop to get me pumped for the new season? — Patrick
With Frank assuming the role of vice president, he and his wife Claire will be thrown into an even brighter media spotlight. But with the additional coverage comes some probing questions about Frank and Claire's choice not to have children — the answer to which will reveal a painful history. But don't expect the media frenzy to keep Frank from committing his usual dastardly deeds. On the contrary, he'll get his hands dirtier than ever in very short order.

When it comes to Downton Abbey, I'm on Team Downstairs! Now that Alfred got accepted to the culinary school at the Ritz, is that love triangle with Ivy and Daisy done? — Sarina
Daisy still carries a torch for the ginger-haired former footman, and his absence doesn't necessarily make it easier for her to get along with Ivy. Daisy will soon catch somebody's eye, though, and each girl will have to make a major decision that could change their lives forever after receiving two very promising proposals. I'll just say this: By the end of the season, somebody could be packing their bags.

I'm excited for Lance Reddick on The Blacklist. Have any more scoop? — Jared
So that new assignment Red gives Reddick's character The Cowboy? Let's just say Jolene, the woman who's been getting a little too close to Tom, may not be such a mystery for much longer. She actually has a connection to another Blacklister who we've already met.

I can't believe Damon is feeding on vampires! What's coming up now on The Vampire Diaries? — Simon
Everyone better stay away! Of course the gang will do just the opposite. "Caroline will focus her attention on finding out what this virus is capable of," Candice Accola says. "We're [also] going to have a big wake-up call to the new mythology we've slowly gotten to learn about over the season with the Travelers, as well as the who, the what and the why of it all." Let me guess, they're not part of a traveling circus?

I can't believe Mark is coming back to Parenthood! Is it safe to say that he and Sarah are headed toward a reconciliation? — Crystal
Not exactly. Making things even murkier is Hank, who steps up for Sarah in a big way at the end of the season. When Amber finds out that Ryan is injured in San Diego, Hank will volunteer to drive her down there. A seven-hour drive has got to be worth some major brownie points, right?

Please share some Arrowscoop. — Jeremy
If you've also been thinking that Moira has been getting away with far too much — in particular, lying about Thea being the daughter of Malcolm Merlyn — then you're in for a real treat. "She still really hasn't had her come-to-Jesus moment, despite what you think would be rock-bottom... and that's coming," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. Her fractured relationship with Oliver over the big lie will have far-reaching implications for every character. "The cold war between Oliver and Moira is not going to go unnoticed by anyone."

Excited about Mycroft's return on Elementary. Do you have any other scoop? — Tim
You heard that Sherlock's former partner Lestrade (Sean Pertwee) will be popping up again, right? Well, here's the sitch: "Sherlock will realize that in the wake of everything that happened in London in the season premiere, Lestrade has wended his way to New York," executive producer Rob Doherty teases. "To Sherlock's surprise, he's doing a little bit better than Holmes may have anticipated."

Mega Rave: The Big Bang Theorycertainly satisfied my want for more intimacy between Amy and Sheldon with a swoon-worthy first real kiss. It's the slowest-burn relationship on television, and you know what? I love it.

Natalie's Mini Rant: Didn't Kevin Williamson say The Following's second season wouldn't focus on inept cops?!

This week's recommendation: Shameless(Sunday at 9/8c on Showtime.) Fiona is going to prison. Full-on Orange Is the New Black-style ladies prison. If you're not caught up on this messed-up little gem of a season — which is finally showcasing the consequences of being a Gallagher — then you are missing out on what's turning into one of the best story lines on TV right now.
