Steven Avery has the support of thousands to get him out of jail, but his ex-fiancée thinks the subject of Netflix's Making a Murdereris right where he belongs.

Jodi Stachowski states in an interview with HLN's Nancy Grace that she wants people to know "what a monster [Avery] is. He's not innocent."

Stachowski also claims that she ate two boxes of rat poison to escape her relationship with Avery and get the police to help her. Police reports also support a history of abuse between Avery and Stachowski, according to The Wrap. She says that the recent petition to have Avery pardoned is encouraging her to speak out.

Stachowski says at first she asked not to participate in the Netflix documentary series that follows the trials and convictions of Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey for the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach in 2005, and alleges that the men were framed by local law enforcement for the crime. Avery has filed a new appeal asking for his conviction to be overturned.

Stachowski's full interview with Grace will air Wednesday at 8/7c.
