The series would focus on Thomas Magnum's daughter, who takes over the family business
Another day, another reboot.
ABC is developing a sequel series to Tom Selleck's '80s action hit Magnum, P.I., according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The potential series from Leverage creator John Rogers and producer Eva Longoria has earned a script commitment from the network. It's being conceived as a sequel to the original series and would follow Thomas Magnum's (Selleck in the original) daughter Lilly "Tommy" Magnum as she returns to Hawaii and takes over her father's private investigator business. The character appeared in four episodes of the original series, which ran for 8 seasons on CBS from 1980 to 1988.
If the new Magnum, P.I. makes it to series, it would be another in a long line of series reboots and adaptations that this fall includes Lethal Weapon and The Exorcist on Fox,MacGyver on CBS and Frequency on The CW.
