Oh Hell, Lucifer Has Been Canceled By Fox

It looks like Fox has no sympathy for the Devil.

Lucifer has officially been canceled after three seasons according to series star Tom Ellis. Ellis tweeted, "It has been the most amazing experience over the past 3 years playing Lucifer and falling in love with you, the fans. It fills me with great sadness to confirm the rumours that some of you have been asking. Fox has indeed cancelled #lucifer I'm so sorry guys. #gutted."

Showrunner Joe Henderson also tweeted his disappointment with Fox's decision. "So... yeah. #Lucifer has been cancelled. And it f---ing HURTS. I loved this show so damn much and everyone put their heart and soul into it. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe," he wrote. "For people asking what to do... MAKE NOISE. I have no idea if we have a shot of coming back, but I know sure as anything that everyone wants to. We have so many more stories to tell... We created a season finale with a huge cliffhanger so that there was no way Fox could cancel us. Instead, we're going to frustrate the hell out of you fans. I'm so sorry for that."

The drama told the story of the fallen angel, Lucifer (Tom Ellis), who made his way to Los Angeles to team up with a clever female detective to solve crimes and punish the wicked -- it's kind of the devil's thing, you know?

Lucifer never reached the kind of ratings that would ensure its survival, but it had a passionate fan base that stuck with the show for three good seasons. It joins The Exorcist, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earthand The Mickin Fox's cancellation bin this year.
