The LAPD has closed its investigation into the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige's after finding Leah Remini's missing persons report "unfounded," Us Weekly reports.
Remini left the religion in July and recently filed a missing persons report on Miscavige's wife Shelly, who hasn't been seen in public in six years. But according to a statement from the Church of Scientology, "The Los Angeles Police Department has already stated that the case is closed and that the report filed by Leah Remini was unfounded." An attorney for Shelly also insists she's "not missing."

Stars who quit Scientology

Remini first noticed Shelly's absence in 2006, at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding. But when she inquired about Shelly, she was reprimanded. The Underground Bunker reports that Shelly had been transferred to a "secret compound" in the mountains that year, where a dozen Scientologists are "completely cut off from the outside world."Shelly's disappearance is one of a series of events which lead to Remini's decision to remove herself and her family from the Church. She's now planning a tell-all memoir where she'll discuss "everything that's taboo to talk about."
