According to Vulture, the tentatively titled Kevin Smith Project is described as a Regis and Kelly-type talk show for the opposite kind of audience (i.e. viewers between the ages of 12 and 34). The project will have Smith and a co-host discuss watercooler topics, followed by a celebrity interview and a comedy segment. It is being positioned to air in the evenings after TMZ on Fox stations around the country.
Smith's latest venture should come as no surprise to fans. The 40-year-old writer-director has been vocal in recent months about his desire to leave filmmaking following the release of his upcoming hockey comedy Hit Somebody, which is currently in pre-production and set to hit theaters next year. The New Jersey native also hosts a regular podcast and recently expanded to a live, daily Internet radio show. He told USA Today last week that he would love to be paid to just be himself and talk.

Smith is also working on another TV project, a reality show for AMC that would center on his Red Bank, N.J. comic book store, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. Smith would executive produce the that project if AMC orders it to series.
