Kellie Pickler Performs for Troops in Afghanistan

Kellie Pickler spent Christmas in Afghanistan singing to American troops at Kandahar Airfield, the Washington Post reports.

The former American Idol contestant and Dancing with the Stars winner also posed for photos with military personnel and visited wounded soldiers. The country singer also quipped that she wished she could have "brought y'all some Jack Daniels," according to the Post.

Pickler wore camouflage leggings and rhinestone boots, and told the service men and women, "There's nowhere I'd rather spend Christmas," the Post reports.

Her visit was part of a nine-day tour for the USO's "Every Moment Counts" campaign.
