Sons of Anarchy Actor Johnny Lewis Found Dead

Sons of Anarchyactor Johnny Lewis was found dead in the driveway outside the Los Angeles home of an elderly woman who was the apparent victim of a homicide, ABC Newsreports.
According to police, Lewis' death was caused by a fall, but it's unknown if it was from the stairway, balcony or roof. (TMZ reports that sources saw Lewis climb onto the roof). Whether Lewis fell or jumped remains unclear. The cause of death for the 81-year-old woman, who was found inside the home, has not been released, but police say she was the victim of a major trauma.

Lewis is currently considered a suspect in the investigation. "The best we're piecing together now is that it appears that some type of altercation occurred inside of the house resulting in the death of the woman," LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told ABC News. "Then this individual ran outside, had an altercation with a couple of neighbors, ran back into the house and by the time we got here, he had fallen or had somehow died on the driveway." While no details are known as to the relationship Lewis and the woman had, Smith said it's possible the actor was renting a room from the victim. TMZ also reports that Lewis may have been under the influence of PCP or meth at the time of the altercation.Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter, who told TVGuide.com at the end of Season 2 that Lewis had asked to be written out of the show, called the actor's death a "tragic end for an extremely talented guy, who unfortunately had lost his way."

"I wish I could say that I was shocked by the events last night, but I was not," Sutter continued. "I am deeply sorry that an innocent life had to be thrown into his destructive path. Yes, it's [a] day [of] mourning, but it's also a day of awareness and gratitude. Sadly, some of us carry the message by dying."
In addition to his role as Kip "Half-Sack" Epps on Sons of Anarchy, Lewis, 28, also had roles on The O.C., Boston Publicand The Runaways.
