Jennifer Hudson Rules at Image Awards

Less than a week after nabbing her first Grammy Award, Jennifer Hudson continued her winning ways at Thursday's NAACP Image Awards, where she scooped up three trophies. "This is where we come from," Hudson said. "So it's always an honor to come home and feel welcome and to feel the love. Less than a week after nabbing her first Grammy Award, Jennifer Hudson continued her winning ways at Thursday's NAACP Image Awards, where she scooped up three trophies.

The singer/actress won new artist, outstanding collaboration ("I'm Only His Woman" featuring Fantasia) and best album for her eponymous debut. Hudson's film, The Secret Life of Bees, won best picture. She was also nominated for her supporting work in the drama, but lost to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button's Taraji P. Henson.
Nominees Chris Brown and Rihanna were both absent from the ceremony following Brown's Sunday arrest for an altercation with an unidentified woman widely reported to be Rihanna. Brown lost male artist to Jamie Foxx, while Rihanna was bested by Beyonce for female artist.
On the TV front, Grey's Anatomy scored best TV drama, while Tyler Perry's House of Payne was named best TV comedy. House of Payne also earned acting awards for LaVan Davis, Lance Gross and Keshia Knight Pulliam.
Sean "Diddy" Combs won TV movie actor for his performance in ABC's A Raisin in the Sun, which won for best TV movie and TV movie actress for Phylicia Rashad as well.
Other winners include Seven Pounds costars Will Smith and Rosario Dawson for film actor and actress, respectively, CSI: NY's Hill Harper for TV drama actor, and Girlfriends' Tracee Ellis Ross for TV comedy actress.
