Snowpiercer is well on its way to television.

TNT has ordered the adaption of the 2013 film to series, Variety reports. The show will feature a huge ensemble cast made up of Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh, Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness, Alison Wright, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Lena Hall.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world seven years after scientists inadvertently sent the Earth into a new ice age, the last of humanity finds shelter on a massive train endlessly circling the globe. With the wealthy elite inhabiting the front of the train and the poor fighting for scraps in the back, the issue of class warfare and social injustice come into play.

Snowpiercer Adds Sting's Daughter to Crew

The series is based on Bong Joon Ho's thought-provoking sci-fi action movie which starred Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Go Ah Sung, John Hurt, and Ed Harris. Doctor Strange scribe Scott Derrickson will direct the pilot and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles creator Josh Friedman is slated to write.
