On this week's Hoarders (Monday, 9/8c, A&E) we're introduced to Roy, who lives in Boulder Creek, Calif., and is something of an anomaly — because all his hoarding (that we see) takes place outside on his 168 acres of land. (The added space means he can hoard larger things like cars.) But it's also because of his accomplishments as an inventor. Here are a few of the inventions he claims responsibility for:

-- The grid structure on "whatever battery" is in your car.

-- The main power supply for the Voyager spacecraft.

-- Something that won the United States the Cold War.
