The Hills are alive ... with the sound of cha-ching.

The salaries for the MTV reality show's stars range between $45,000 and $100,000 an episode, a source with knowledge of the show's contracts tells the Daily Beast.

Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Lauren "Lo" Bosworth are the show's highest earners at $100,000 each per episode, while new addition Kristin Cavallari rakes in $90,000 an episode.

Poll: Who's the best Hills bad girl?

During her five seasons as The Hills' leading lady, Lauren Conrad made up to $125,000 an episode, the site said. Conrad, who left the show in May, also had a clause in her contract prohibiting any other cast member from matching her salary. The show's two main men — Spencer Pratt and Brody Jenner — take home $65,000 and $45,000 per episode, respectively.

On top of their Hills paychecks, most of the show's stars bring in extra income from their high personal appearance rates. These fees average $20,000-$25,000 for Cavallari, Conrad and Patridge and top out at $30,000 each for newlyweds Montag and Pratt.

The report came just one day ahead of the premiere of the second part of the show's fifth season, its first episode with former Laguna Beach star Cavallari taking Conrad's place.

The Hills returns Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10/9c on MTV.
