Clinton's announcement comes less than a year after President Barack Obama publicly endorsed gay marriage last May. The former Secretary is strongly rumored to be considering another presidential run in 2016.
Clinton said her stance on marriage was shaped in part by her and former President Bill Clinton seeing their daughter, Chelsea, get married in 2010. "I wish every parent that same joy," Clinton says. "To deny the opportunity to any of our daughters and sons solely on the basis of who they are and who they love is to deny them the chance to live up to their own God-given potential."
