Chelsea Clinton Marries Longtime Boyfriend

Chelsea Clinton has gotten married.
The former first daughter wed longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky in a sunset ceremony Saturday in Rhinebeck, N.Y., according to The New York Times.
"Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends," Bill and Hillary Clinton said in a statement. "We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."

The interfaith ceremony was conducted by a reverend and a rabbi (Clinton is Methodist; Mezvinsky is Jewish), according to the Times. A friend also read the Leo Marks poem, "The Life I Have," the newspaper reported.Guests included Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, Vera Wang (who designed Clinton's gown), former Secretary of State Madeline Albright and former Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe.Clinton, 30, and Mezvinsky, 32, became friends as teenagers in Washington, D.C., and attended Stanford University together. They began dating in 2005 and announced their engagement in November. Mezvinsky, an investment banker, is the son of former Rep. Ed Mezvinsky of Iowa and former Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy of Pennsylvania.
