American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee were finally reunited with their families five months after they were imprisoned in North Korea.
"When we walked through the doors, we saw standing before us President Bill Clinton," Ling said after she and Lee disembarked their jetliner to greet their loved ones Wednesday morning. "We were shocked, but we knew instantly in our hearts that the nightmare of our lives was finally coming to an end. And now we stand here, home and free."
While a teary-eyed crowd applauded, Ling expressed their "deepest gratitude" to the former president for negotiating with North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, who granted a special pardon on Tuesday.

For two days next week, the ladies of The View are dedicating their entire hour to only one guest. On Monday, Sept. 22, former president Bill Clinton will make his first appearance on the talk show as a part of the show's continuing "Red, White & View" campaign. Clinton will be interviewed by all five of the show's cohosts about the Clinton Global Initiative, which he launched in 2005 to bring global leaders together against the worlds most pressing challenges. On Wednesday, Sept. 24, 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin will be the sole guest. The appearance will be his only live talk show appearance while promoting his new book, A Promise to Ourselves: A Journey Through Fatherhood and Divorce, which addresses his divorce, his much-publicized angry voice mail to his daughter and his recently reported thoughts of suicide. It's been a good four years or so since JibJab made the now classic Bush-Kerry political parody video, "This Land," and now with the election only months away, the time has come for their latest political spoof, "It's Time for Some Campaigning." As a parody of Bob Dylans '60s political anthem, "The Times They Are A-Changin'," the video features Obama, McCain, both Clintons and even a cameo from a banjo-playing Dubya. Barack riding a unicorn through the enchanted forest is genius, but the Clinton cigar scene was priceless as well.
