Why yes, you can call it a comeback. After weeks of rumors, HBO finally announced on Monday that it has ordered a new season of The Comeback, the 2005 comedy starring Friends vet Lisa Kudrow and created by Sex and the City'sMichael Patrick King. Six new episodes of the series will premiere this fall.

"It was almost too fun to play Valerie Cherish the first time around," Kudrow said in a statement. "I look forward to revisiting this resilient and oronically self-unaware character."

Bubble shows: Which will survive?

In addition to Kudrow, Lance Barber, Dan Bucatinsky, Robert Michael Morris, Laura Silverman and Damian Young will reprise their roles for the new season, which starts production this month.

In case you missed it the first time around, the mockumentary-style The Comeback followed Valerie Cherish (Kudrow), an aging actress and former reality star clinging on to the last vestiges of her popularity. Though it was canceled after just 13 episodes, it garnered three Emmy nominations and the adoration of critics. In the new season, Valerie will find that getting the attention she wants so badly comes with a whole new set of problems.
