Harrison Ford Doesn't Seem Too Enthusiastic About the Young Han Solo Movie

The actor was his usual curmudgeonly self on Ellen

Chewbacca appeared on Tuesday's Ellen to promote Star Wars: The Force Awakens' DVD release, but since Ellen DeGeneres doesn't speak Wookiee, she had to bring out a translator: Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford.

When Ford sat down with DeGeneres, he had nothing but amusingly grumpy stuff to say about the upcoming Han Solo movie. DeGeneres said that many actors are auditioning to play "a new Han Solo," but Ford corrected her, saying, "It's worse than that, it's a young Han Solo."

Young Han has not yet been cast, but old Han has some advice for whoever takes on the role: Don't.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens leads MTV Movie Awards nominations

"Don't do it," Ford said. "First it seems like everything's going swimmingly, and you put in 25, 30 years, and then they just let you go. And they show you the door and say, 'We're done with you, thanks very much.'"

Ford declined to mention that, hey, at least he got around $20 million out of it. And as DeGeneres noted, now he has free time to be Indiana Jones again.
