Here Are All the Halloween Marathons Hitting TV This Year

This Halloween, many of your favorite channels will be getting in on the scary action as they celebrate the day with a full slate of festive programming. From seminal slasher series to cartoon favorites to old-school classics, the All Hallow's Eve offerings are aplenty in 2018.

Here's a rundown of which stations will be running Halloween marathons this Oct. 31. (All times listed are ET.)

THEMED MARATHONS:

FXX: If you haven't yet watched all of The Simpsons' annual "Treehouse of Horror" segments, FXX will be venturing back to the beginning with a full-day marathon of every Halloween episode of the show, starting at 8:00 a.m. with "Treehouse of Horror I" and running all day with a new episode each half hour before concluding with 2017's "Treehouse of Horror XXVIII" at 8:30 p.m.

Comedy Central: Also getting in on the animation overload game this Halloween is Comedy Central, which will be airing its scariest episodes ofSouth Park from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., when a new episode of the series will debut on the network.

Freeform: Freeform's annual "31 Nights of Halloween" goes full-on Hocus Pocus on its last day this year, with airings of the 1993 film running all day long, starting at 7:30 a.m. until a last showing at 7:50 p.m. In between showings, Freefrom will also run its Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash (featuring none other than Winifred Sanderson, aka Bette Midler herself).

AMC: AMC finishes its "Fearfest" slate with a full day of Halloween films. Not every Michael Myers movie has made it into the line-up (looking at you, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later), but it should be a good primer for the uninitiated.

Paramount Network: If Freddy Krueger is your slasher villain of preference, Paramount Network will air a day full of the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Although, strangely, the network will air them in reverse chronological order before starting all over again with a late-night showing of the original that's followed in sequence by its sequels for the night owls to enjoy.

IFC: If murderous extraterrestrials are what really get you into the Halloween spirit, then IFC has you covered, with an Alien marathon that's sure to give you the heebie-jeebies.

6:00 a.m.: Alien
8:30 a.m.: Aliens
11:30 a.m.: Alien 3
2:00 p.m.: Alien Resurrection
6:00 p.m.: Aliens

The History Channel: The History Channel will devote the first half of the day to creeping everyone out with true stories, starting at 7:00 a.m. with The Real Story of Halloween, followed by a marathon of Haunted History episodes starting at 8:00 a.m. Segments airing throughout the morning include "The Manson Murders," "Katrina Cannibal," "Ghosts of Gettysburg," and "The Torso Murders."

SPOOKY MOVIE MARATHONS:

If you prefer to spend your day indulging in a random sampling of Halloween fare rather than marathoning a single series or franchise, there are several other networks offering scares from the archives as well.

FX: FX's slate of films is a little all over the place, from campy films to the brutally intense.

7:00 a.m.: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
9:30 a.m.: Dracula Untold
12:30 p.m.: 10 Cloverfield Lane
3:00 p.m.: Don't Breathe
5:00 p.m.: The Purge: Election Year

Syfy: If you're looking for a marathon with greater cult appeal, or at least less mainstream cache, this is definitely a good option.

11:12 a.m.: The Haunting in Connecticut
1:15 p.m.: Cabin Fever
3:15 p.m.: Leatherface
5:15 p.m.: Dead in the Water

TCM: For those of you who really want to stray off the beaten path and into some of the weirder horror flicks, TCM put together quite an interesting marathon that will sure to have you screaming.

10:15 a.m.: Carnival of Souls
11:45 a.m.: Spirits of the Dead
2:00 p.m.: From Beyond the Grave

FOR KIDS:

Outside of all that trick-or-treating action, there'll be plenty for the kiddos to watch throughout Halloween day as well. PBS Kids, Nickelodeon (and Nick Jr. and Nick Teen), and the Disney Channel (along with Disney Jr. and Disney XD) will all air their spookiest show segments throughout the day, starting as early as 7:00 a.m.

From the Bubble Guppies to the PJ Masks to Peppa Pig, all of the kiddos' favorite characters will be coming out to play on the big day, so when that candy rush starts to wear off, they can settle down with some 'toons, too.
