Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) is freaking out over DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), and with good reason: her boyfriend may have just wrecked his life in order to protect her. Grey's Anatomy's season finale, which airs tonight, finds the award-winning doctor stuck in a medical chamber worrying about DeLuca, who was last seen heading to the police station to take the fall for Meredith's insurance fraud scheme to save her young patient.

In an exclusive sneak peek of the episode, Meredith frets over what will happen to her beau after that grand gesture while Alex (Justin Chambers) looks on. "I have to go. I have to get out of here. I can't let him go tank his whole career," she says in the preview before inquiring about a phone.

Who Will Die Next on Grey's Anatomy?

But Alex is quick to point out that an impulsive act like hopping on a call with the technicians just outside the door probably isn't the best idea. "You wanna tell 'em how your boyfriend is going to jail for you and you still haven't said 'I love you?'" he responds. So rather than continue to freak out, Meredith switches her focus to helping their patient and filling Alex in on what's going on with his wife, Jo (Camilla Luddington).

The season finale, titled "Jump Into the Fog," will see Meredith and Alex team up to try and save Gus as DeLuca's career hangs in the balance. Meanwhile, a fog engulfs Seattle and that will surely send the hospital into disarray. Plus, Schmitt (Jake Borelli) will continue to try and talk some sense into Nico (Alex Landi).
