Gabourey Sidibe is reteaming with her Precious director Lee Daniels for his new Fox hip-hop drama Empire, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sidibe, who earned an Oscar nomination for her role in Precious, has booked a recurring role on the series. The pilot stars Terrence Howard as Lucious Lyon, the head of a record label and Taraji P. Henson as his ex-wife, Cookie. Sidibe will play Becky, Lucious' hardworking assistant.

Empire is written by The Butler scribe Danny Strong and will feature music by Timbaland.

Following her breakout role in Precious, Sidibe starred on Showtime's cancer comedy The Big C before snagging the role of Queenie on American Horror Story: Coven.
