The Deadpool animated series which was expected to arrive this year, by way of Atlanta's Donald Glover and FXX, has lost its lead creative and network due to "creative differences."

Deadline revealed on Saturday that FX would be pulling the plug on the project, which was given a 10-episode order for the network's comedy-centric subsidiary channel FXX, after all parties decided to part ways. Glover was originally expected to co-write and produce the series with his brother Stephen, with whom he works his Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning series Atlanta for FX.

In a statement, the network confirmed, "Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel's Deadpool animated series. FX will no longer be involved with the project. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on Legion, which will continue."

No word yet on what those "creative differences" may have been.

One can only imagine the kind of four-letter words fans of the Merc with a Mouth must be slinging over these news, but, hey, at least the release of Deadpool 2 in theaters is still nigh.
