Here's who we think should star

With the reboot craze in full swing -- thanks, Fuller House -- there's yet another remake headed your way. But you might want to pay attention to this one.

Paramount Network is adapting the '90s comedy classic The First Wives Club into a new show about female empowerment and friendship. In the same vein as its big-screen predecessor, the series will follow four New York women who form a sisterhood after their marriages have fallen spectacularly apart. They'll embark on a life-changing journey to find their inner strength while also indulging in a little revenge.

Season 1, which will consist of 10 half-hour episodes, is already off to a great start withGirls Trip scribe Tracy Oliver signed on to pen the script and executive produce. A cast hasn't yet been announced but we're holding out hope that the series will take advantage of its Girl Trip connection and bring in Tiffany Haddish in some capacity because let's be honest, everything's better when she's involved. And if the series can wrangle up Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith or Regina Hall, even better. Actually, let's just make this a Girls Trip series. No? Okay then.

The 1996 film's stars Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton aren't attached to the project but it's still early in the process so maybe at least of them will make a cameo at some point. Or maybe not. Either way, the First Wives Clubseries is expected to air sometime in 2019 on the Paramount Network.

This is the Paramount Network's second movie adaptation after the much-delayed Heathers reboot which will arrive...sometime this year? A new premiere date hasn't been announced yet.
