Exclusive: Disney Channel Sets Premiere Date for New Cartoon Wander Over Yonder

Space is the new frontier for the Disney Channel, which will sneak preview the new intergalactic animated series Wander Over Yonder right after the premiere of Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel on Aug. 16.
Wander Over Yonder, created by Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls) centers on space traveler and do-gooder Wander and the quick-tempered Sylvia. The two find themselves on adventures and fighting evil (including Lord Hater and his watchdogs).
Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) plays Wander, April Winchell (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) is Sylvia, Tom Kenny (Spongebob SquarePants) plays Watchdog Army boss Commander Peepers and Keith Ferguson (Gravity Falls) is the evil Lord Hater. Guest stars in season 1 include James Marsden, Aziz Ansari and Edie McClurg. The preview episode, "The Picnic," follows Wander as he finds the perfect picnic spot — right next to Lord Hater's epic battlefield.
The first two Wander Over Yonder episodes officially premiere on Friday, Sept. 13 at 9/8c; iTunes will make those shows available for free download starting Friday, Aug. 30.
