It's a celebration!
When the 68th Primetime Emmys ceremony is over, the party begins. The stars go out to celebrate their victories or mourn their losses -- or just to see and be seen. The most fun part of these parties for fans is seeing surprising combinations of celebs and just generally observing how much fun everyone is having. Here are our favorite photos from Sunday night's Emmy afterparties.
Here are two people you'd never expect to see in the same room: Dancing With the Stars pro (and TVGuide.com blogger) Derek Hough and Better Call Saul tough guy Jonathan Banks. Hough was like, "Say 'meth!'"
For reasons unknown, Documentary Now! and Portlandia nominee Fred Armisen was in character as Frankenstein's monster all night. He and his date/girlfriend, Orange Is the New Black actress Natasha Lyonne, arrived at the ceremony and later hit the AMC Networks afterparty in a hearse. It was weird, but Lyonne thought it was funny -- even if no one else did.
Jesus cleans up nice! The Walking Dead actor Tom Payne looked dapper af at the AMC Networks party. He almost upstaged his date, model Jennifer Akerman -- Malin's sister -- who was giving serious "Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars in 2011" vibes.
It was a Friday Night Lights reunion at the FX and Vanity Fair party for Jesse Plemons and Connie Britton.
It's always heartwarming to see how much the cast of Game of Thrones loves each other in real life.
Meanwhile, A Song of Ice and Fire author and Game of Thrones producer George R.R. Martin was chilling with his new Emmy instead of writing. We get it, take a night off and bask in the glory of what you've created, but you've got a book to finish, George!
Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery and The Night Manager's Tom Hiddleston hung out at the HBO party. At another party, Hiddleston was reportedly spotted flirting with his co-presenter,Quantico's Priyanka Chopra. Taylor who?
Winners for The People v. O.J. Simpson Sarah Paulson and Sterling K. Brown received congratulations from their co-star David Schwimmer, who wasn't on the opposing team offscreen.
Getting On's Niecy Nash and Amy Schumer -- whom you may know from everywhere -- caught up at the HBO party.
