Lifetime Sets Drop Dead Diva Premiere, Casts New Guardian Angel

Drop Dead Divawill debut its fifth season on Sunday, June 23 at 9/8c on Lifetime, the network announced Thursday.

Less than two months after Lifetime pulled the plug on Diva, the network revived the series for a 13-episode fifth season. Over the course of its run, the dramedy has developed a loyal fanbase — many of whom continued campaigning to keep the show on air following news of the cancellation. The show's fourth season averaged more than 2 million viewers last summer.

Justin Deeley, who played Austin on 90210, has been cast as Jane's new guardian angel, as announced on the show's Facebook page.
