Desiree Hartsock didn't find love with Sean on The Bachelor, but she'll get to try again as the star of next season's installment of The Bachelorette.  Host Chris Harrison made the announcement on The Bachelor: After the Final Rose Monday.

"I can't believe I'm here," Desiree said after the reveal. "I'm grateful...I'm overcome with happiness."

The 26-year-old bridal consultant made it to the final four this season, but after a hometown date turned awkward between Sean and Desiree's brother, she was sent home. Despite her tearful goodbye, on the Women Tell All special, Desiree seemed like she had moved on.

The Bachelor Finale: And the final rose goes to...

"I really am looking forward to the future and really embracing all that life has to offer," she said. "I'm very open to finding love, that's all I want, that's all I could hope for. I would be the happiest person if I could meet the guy I'm going to spend the rest of my life with."

Choosing Desiree perhaps isn't a total surprise. After her exit, Harrison told TVGuide.com, "Right now Des is a big front-runner [for Bachelorette] ... She's the beautiful girl-next-door that you want to wish well."

Meanwhile, TVGuide.com users chose Lesley as their pick for the next Bachelorette, with Desiree coming in second.  Production on The Bachelorette begins this week with the premiere slated for the spring.

Do you think Des will make a good Bachelorette?
