The upcoming season of Dancing with the Starsis shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet, and not just because stars will all be famous athletes.

Here are all the details about Dancing with the Stars: Athletes that you'll definitely need to know if you want to make your mirrorball predictions as accurate as possible.

Here's who's competing in Season 26. ABC announced the cast on April 13, and it's heavy on Olympians, including three figure skaters: Adam Rippon (partnered with dance pro Jenna Johnson), Mirai Nagasu (with Alex Bersten) and the notorious Tonya Harding (with Sasha Farber). The other Olympians are softball player Jennie Finch (with Keo Motsepe), snowboarder Jamie Anderson (with Artem Chigvintsev) and luger Chris Mazdzer (with Witney Carson).

The non-Olympian cast consists of NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (with Lindsay Arnold), NFL star Josh Norman (with Sharna Burgess), retired MLB great Johnny Damon (with Emma Slater) and Notre Dame basketball player Arike Ogunbowale (with Gleb Savchenko).

Dancing with the Stars Finale Crowns Its Season 25 Winner!

The season will be shorter than normal. Rather than the typical 10-week format, the athletes season will only run for four weeks, which means cuts are going to be brutal, and stars won't have a lot of time to polish their rough edges. It's ready, set, mirrorball! The premiere will air Monday, April 30 at 8/7c and wrap up on Monday, May, 21 at 8/7c.

The hosts and judges are staying the same. While the format and timing will be all jumbled up thanks to this new twist, at least we know that Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will be back to host and Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli are all returning as judges. As for Julianne Hough, she's almost certainly sitting this one out again (and may be done with the franchise for good).

There's a new showrunner. Andrew Llinares, whose previews producing credits include The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent has been named the new showrunner for Season 25. He's told The Hollywood Reporter that he plans to make some changes that move the show forward without revolutionizing the whole concept.

Don't expect Johnny Manziel to compete. According to The Blast, NFL player Johnny Manziel was in talks to compete in the all athletes season, but was deemed "too controversial" by Dancing with the Stars producers. Manziel has a history of substance abuse and domestic violence allegations against him, which would not jibe well with Dancing with the Stars' family-friendly vibe.

Rashad Jennings will guest judge. According to People, Season 24 winner Rashad Jennings will return to be a judge on the second episode of Season 26. "[I'm] super excited about the Dancing with the Stars: Athletes Season!" Jennings told People. "I get to be back in the ballroom and see things from a safer perspective! Glad I don't have to worry about pointing my toes or heel-leads!"

Dancing with the Stars returns April 30 at 8/7c on ABC.
