Frasierstar Peri Gilpin has booked a multi-episode guest-starring gig on CSIas Allison, the wife of Ted Danson's D.B. Russell.
Born into a well-to-do California family, Allison turned her back on the world of yachts and horses when she married Russell. She is described as Russell's intellectual equivalent, but also the woman that rules his heart — and life. That notion may be tested in the finale, which involves a case that finally reveals the troubled history between Russell and his "work wife" Julie Finlay (Elisabeth Shue).
Gilpin will make her first appearance in the Season 12 finale, which is shaping up to be a star-studded affair that will also feature the return of Conor O'Farrell as Undersheriff McKeen and Jaclyn Smith as Hodges' mother.
Gilpin has previously worked with Danson during the final season of Cheers. Besides her work as Roz on Frasier, Gilpin has made recent appearances on such series as Make It or Break It, Law & Order: Criminal Intentand Desperate Housewives. Her most recent roles include guest spots on Grey's Anatomyand Hot in Cleveland.
CSI airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on CBS. The finale is slated to air May 9.
