Short, who was recently fired from Scandal, is accused of knocking a man unconscious at a restaurant in West Hollywood in March.

He also is involved in a separate case of misdemeanor spousal battery after allegedly threatening his wife, Tanee Short, with a knife in April. Tanee Short now has a temporary restraining order against the actor and has filed for divorce. Short plans to contest the restraining order.

Short is due back in court for the restaurant case on June 5.
