Christopher Meloni has signed on to play the lead in Fox's upcoming comedy pilot based on Justin Halpern's book I Suck at Girls, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The former Law & Order: SVUstar will play Jack Dunlevy in the untitled project. The character is described as an ex-military, no-nonsense oncologist who takes on extra parental responsibilities for his children when his wife enrolls in law school.
Claudia Lee will play Jack's daughter, Rachel, and Deception's Connor Buckley will play his son, Frankie.
The pilot will be written by Halpern and Schumacker, who will also executive-produce alongside Cougar Town'sBill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold.
