Orlando Police have identified the man who shot and killed singer and The Voice alum Christina Grimmie Friday night, The Associated Press reports.

Kevin James Loibl, 27, of St. Petersburg, Fla. murdered the 22-year-old singer as she signed autographs after a performance, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said during a press conference Saturday. Loibl did not appear to know Grimmie personally, and police believe he went to the concert specifically to attack her.

Grimmie was doing a meet-and-greet after a concert at The Plaza Live in Orlando Friday night when Loibl shot her. Grimmie's brother Marcus tackled Loibl, who then shot and killed himself. Grimmie died early Saturday morning.

Grimmie's murder was the first of two tragedies in Orlando this weekend. At least 50 people were killed in what is being characterized as an act of terrorism when a gunman opened fire at gay nightclub Pulse.
