Christian Preacher Defends Using Modern Family Photo for E-Book Cover

A Christian preacher has come under fire for using a picture of the cast of Modern Family for the cover of his new e-book, Bible Principles of Child Discipline.

In the e-book, author Doug Sehorne used a picture of the Dunphy family, including stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, for the cover, despite the fact that Modern Family has been a lightning rod for several Christian groups because it features a gay couple who have an adopted child.

Apparently, Sehorne only very recently got the memo that Modern Family is not exactly the most traditionally Christian-friendly TV show. In a message posted on Sehorne's Facebook wall Wednesday, he explains why he picked a photo "from a wicked TV show involving a gay couple":

"1. I do not even have a TV and have not for 35 years.

2. I never heard of the TV show.

3. I got the image from a search on Google Images, which I assumed were not copyrighted, etc.

4. Anyone who knows me, knows I would never condone such wickedness as sodomy or even TV."

At the end of his post, Sehorne explains he is now in the process of removing the book and changing the cover, and thanks his friends for warning him.
