Brooklyn Nine-Nine will fight crime for another day.
Fox has granted a fifth season renewal for the Mike Schur comedy starring Andy Samberg. The news comes after Fox announced on Thursday that it was axing freshman comedies Son of Zorn and Making History. Brooklyn Nine-Nine scores a renewal along with previously renewed comedies The Mick and The Last Man on Earth and Sunday animated comedies The Simpsons, Bob's Burgersand Family Guy.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been a critical darling for the network. Samberg and the series have both taken home Golden Globes while Andre Braugher has scored an Emmy nomination for every season of the show, though the show's stunt coordinator is the only B99 representative to take home TV's biggest prize. The fifth season will also see Brooklyn Nine-Nine cross the 100-episode milestone.

The show also stars Terry Crews as Sergeant Terry Jeffords, Melissa Fumero as Detective Amy Santiago, Joe Lo Truglio as Detective Charles Boyle, Stephanie Beatriz as Detective Rosa Diaz, Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti, Joel McKinnon Miller as Detective Scully, and Dirk Blocker as Detective Hitchcock.
Fox will announce its full schedule on Monday, May 15.
