Could American Idol finally have a replacement for Simon Cowell? Fresh off his surprise appearance on the Idol finale, it suddenly seems Bret Michaels might be the most likely candidate for the job. And last Friday, in a concert at the Hard Rock Café in Biloxi, Miss., the rocker told the audience, "I can't say this is true yet, because I don't know. Next year they asked me to possibly be the judge on American Idol."
Though Fox issued a "no comment" in regards to the reports, Michaels' rep tells TV Guide Magazine that no official offer has been made by Fox at this point, but Michaels "would love to" join the judges' panel if he is asked. "He thinks it's a great platform for new talent to be discovered," she says.
The Poison front man, who performed "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with Casey James, is no stranger to reality TV. He has judged musical talent on Nashville Star, looked for love on three seasons of Rock of Love and recently took home the title of Celebrity Apprentice. Even Simon Cowell seems to think he's a good candidate, reportedly mentioning Michaels as a possible replacement to reporters just moments after Michaels Idol performance.
Do you think Bret Michaels should be the fourth judge on American Idol?
