Box Office: G.I. Joe: Retaliation Dominates

G.I. Joe: Retaliation muscled its way to the top of the weekend box office, hauling in a whopping $41.2 million and knocking The Croods out of the No. 1 spot. The sequel's debut marks the second highest Easter weekend opening ever, after 2010's Clash of the Titans, and is the highest debut ever for Bruce Willis, Box Office Mojo reports.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation muscled its way to the top of the weekend box office, hauling in a whopping $41.2 million and knocking The Croods out of the No. 1 spot. The sequel's debut marks the second highest Easter weekend opening ever, after 2010's Clash of the Titans, and is the highest debut ever for Bruce Willis, Box Office Mojo reports.

The Croods dropped off nearly 40 percent from its opening weekend to land in second place with $26.5 million, while Tyler Perry's Temptationdebuted in third place with $22.3 million.

Spring TV Preview: Must-see new shows

Rounding out the top five were Olympus Has Fallen with $14 million and Oz the Great and Powerful with $11.6 million.

Young adult science fiction film The Host opened in sixth place with $11 million and coming in seventh was The Call, which netted $4.8 million.

After a lackluster opening last weekend, the Tina Fey/Paul Rudd comedy Admission fell to No. 8 with $3.2 million. Spring Breakers($2.7 million) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone($1.3 million) closed out the Top 10.
