Betty White Fans Launch New Facebook Campaign for Oscar Hosting Gig

Will Facebook also be able to secure Betty White a hosting gig at  the Oscars?

On the heels of her debut performance on Saturday Night Live, fans have launched another Facebook campaign pushing for the Golden Girlsalum to host next year's Academy Awards.

The "Betty White to Host the Oscars" campaign had more than 10,700 supporters as of Wednesday morning.

The 88-year-old actress landed her SNL hosting gig, which resulted in the show's highest ratings in 18 months, after more than 500,000 fans joined a Facebook crusade to get White on the sketch comedy series.

If the new campaign fails to persuade the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a second Facebook campaign is in the works for White to host the Emmys.
