Dracula star Thomas Kretschmann is sinking his teeth into the Avengers sequel.
The actor, who plays Abraham van Helsing in the NBC series, has signed on to play a major villain in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sources tell the magazine that Kretschmann will play Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, an antagonist for Captain America (Chris Evans) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). In the comics, the character was a Nazi officer who becomes one of the leaders of a terrorist organization named HYDRA.
James Spader will play the movie's main villain — a sentient artificial intelligence known as Ultron.
Kretschmann's other credits include Wanted and 24.
