Even though Breaking Bad ended its five-season run last month, the show is continuing to pick up new fans — including acting legend Anthony Hopkins.

The Silence of the Lambs star binge-watched Bad in the span of two weeks recently, and was so moved by the show that he penned an open letter to star Bryan Cranstonand the rest of the cast. Steven Michael Quezada, who played Det. Steve Gomez on the AMC drama, posted the letter to his Facebook page.

Fall TV Popularity Contest: Which new shows won you over?

"I have never watched anything like it. Brilliant!" Hopkins gushed in the letter. "What started as a black comedy descended into a labyrinth of blood, destruction and hell. It was like a great Jacobean, Shakespearian or Greek Tragedy."

Addressing Cranston specifically, Hopkins wrote: "Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have ever seen — ever. ... Thank you. That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence. You and all the cast are the best actors I've ever seen."
